Caring About Our Public Spaces
On June 2nd, 2011, a volunteer team of British Group employees participated in The United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador's first official Day of Caring.
The Day of Caring event provides hands-on support to non-profit agencies and organizations, and British Group was proud to be a part of this nationwide event which creates real and positive change in our communities.
British Group's inaugural team of volunteers included Tracy Osmond, Joyce Randell, Glen Efford and
Tina Quinlan. Their day kicked off with a breakfast held at the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre before
they were dispatched to their task of cleaning and landscaping the gardens at The Anna Templeton Centre.
Neither wind, rain or mud could deter our team, who weathered four hours of inclement weather while raking up 18 garbage bags full of debris - but all agreed the results were well worth it.
